Wakefield Scouts offers all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme through our Explorer and Network provisions up to Gold level. We are able to support young people in completing all the Sections of Duke of Edinburgh through our varied programmes we offer and our Young Leaders Scheme to help with the volunteering section
For more general information about the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Scouting, take a look at the Scouts website:
You can also volunteer with the Scouts to complete your Volunteering hours for Duke of Edinburgh if you are taking your Duke of Edinburgh with a different organisation.
You can work with any of our sections as a young leader (14 to 17 years old) or as an adult leader (18 plus) to support them in their weekly programme. Don’t worry if you cant make every week as we support flexible volunteering, this would be down to a discussion with your assessor about how much volunteering you need to complete.
If you are interested in joining us for your duke of Edinburgh volunteering, please get in touch through volunteer@wakefieldscouts.org.uk
